Defending
Formula Renault champion (Asian and China championships) Rodolfo
Avila completed the first (of a series) of tests in a Carlin Motorsport
F3 Dallara Mugen-Honda. Held last week for two consecutive days
at the 2.3 kilometre Pembrey Circuit in South Wales, the test was
considered highly successful despite the wet and cold weather condition.
Flying-in a fortnight ago to acclimatize himself with the car and
the team, the test is rumoured to be used to evaluate possibilities
aimed at enhancing his motorsport career.
"The car is very impressive. There is so much power and
grip! G forces are much higher so clocking in respectable times
was quite an interesting challenge for me", commented Avila.
"Carlin Motorsport is fantastic and everyone was really
helpful in settling me in. They are the perfect team to have a first
Formula 3 test with and I can't wait to get out again".
The 17-year old Macau-based champion is set to return to Pembrey
on August 24 and 25 to do more tests together with Carlin Motorsport.
