PRESS RELEASE Jan Charouz
Formula BMW ADAC Championship: Oschersleben / Zandvoort
Weekend to forget / Charouz just missed points

Race Report Oschersleben, Round 13 & 14

Jan Charouz paid the price for a bad qualifying and finished just behind the points.

The story of the weekend formed the qualifying sessions where Charouz struggled with car balance and finished 19th and 18th. Saturday's race was ruined by jump start and Charouz ended at the back. However, the Czech driver again showed on Sunday that beginnings of the races are his strength and improved to 11th position under checquered flag.
Jan Charouz: "It is quite clear that we had to work on qualifying. Everything seemed okay during the free practice but the car did not feel good on the new tyres in the qualifying. I took a gamble on the start of the first race and tried to hit the time when the lights went off but I just missed it and got a penalty. Sunday's race was better although I was forced of the track at the first corner but I did not loose anything. The car was not ideal it understeered at some places and oversteered at others. To improve from 18th on the grid to 11th is not too bad but it was not enough for points."

Race Report Zandvoort, Round 15 & 16

Zandvoort did not bring any luck to Jan Charouz and he left the circuit disappointed but determined to fight back in his home race at Brno.

The weekend did not start well, as Charouz spun off just after few laps in the free practice and ended in the gravel. The qualifying was something as a practice for him as a result and he ended 21st and 18th respectively. The bad luck again stroke in both races and Jan had to retire after collisions.

Jan Charouz: "The weekend went from bad to worse. It was my mistake in the free practice the car slide at the first corner and I was not able to catch him. There was some dirt, which did not help also. I spun and although the car was okay and I needed jut short push to get out of gravel the marshals showed that it is not possible. We were trying to catch up thing in the qualifying but it was extremely difficult. I knew that I have to risk in the races in order to get to the front. There was a collision in front of me in the first one and I was not able to aviod a contact. I pushed really hard in the second but lost the car under braking to the hairpin and it was end of the miserable weekend. I would like to think that I will have much better luck at Brno."
