Nürburg
More than 100.000 spectators on the grandstands, saw Chris
van der Drift today finishing twice in a respectable fourth position.
With this result the Dutch New-Zealander is now heading
the rookie championship in the Formula BMW ADAC Series.
As
all contenders make use of the same chassis, engine, tyres and fuel,
the Formula BMW ADAC Series is a solid championship for young upcoming
drivers. Because all races are being held during prestigious Formula
1 or DTM events, a large amount of (media)attention is guaranteed.
Therefore this series offers an ideal opportunity for companies
or brands to present themselves on a international platform. For

With
a 10th and a 5th grid position in both races, the multiple New-Zealand
go-kart champion wasnt satisfied at first. During the
last test here this winter, the griplevel was complete different.
Therefore we had to change our set-up dramatically and sort of miss
out on a good starting position for Race 01. Qualifying for race
02 however, went okay, responded the young Team Rosberg driver.
In
both races on Sunday morning, Kiwi confirmed his reputation
as a pure racer. In race 01 Vandy worked his way up
from tenth on the grid to a superb fourth position at the finish.
A quick start in Race 02 hands him the same satisfying position.
With the obtained championship points, Van der Drift now heads the
standings for the rookie classification. Current championship leader
Sebastian Vettel again remains the man to beat, after two good results
at the Ring.
Van
der Drift: Its a shame I couldnt finish in a pod
ium position today. But Im still very pleased about my role
and finishes today. I drove two attacking races which led to satisfying
results. I hope the BMW sport executives also noticed my performances!
