Ryan
Lewis heads to the final two rounds of the Avon Tyres British Formula
3 Championship at Brands Hatch next weekend determined to end the
season the way he started it; with a double victory to add to the
15 he has already. Despite dominating the Scholarship class, clinching
the title with five races in hand, the 20 year-old from Royston
is still keen to add another two race wins to his total and feels
that the low-downforce Indy circuit could also see him up amongst
the championship class cars.
I'm really looking forward to racing at Brands, said
Ryan. It's not a big downforce track, the Indy circuit, and
I'm sure I can put a lot of championship cars to shame. There's
going to be carnage at the first corner, I'm sure of that, what
with the Championship battle still up for grabs and Paddock Hill
bend notorious as first corners go. It's going to be an interesting
weekend that's for sure.
I definitely don't want to get in the way of the Carroll/Piquet
battle in any way; I just want to get there and get my head down
and finish the season on a high - with double victory. It'll be
good to race there again, I really like the track, and Paddock Hill
is definitely one of my favourite corners. I think the races will
certainly be eventful and the racing should be good.
Ryan also carried out a successful test at Pembrey last week which
allowed him to master the Welsh track and smooth out his driving
style. I think the test last week was probably the best test
I've ever had. I'm very happy working with the team and I think
we work well together, I'm pretty sure they felt it was a good test
too and hopefully we can put all that we learnt to good use next
weekend.
