For
the fourth time in its history the Spanish Formula 3 Championship
races take place at the Portuguese race track of Estoril, to be
held the 27th of June. At all the last three meetings held at this
track Racing Engineerings drivers won and therefore the expectations
of the team from Sanlucar de Barrameda for the forthcoming weekend
are high.
Ander
Vilariño, Lucas Lassere and the 2003 Spanish Formula 3 Champion
Ricardo Mauricio have all jumped onto the top of the podium when
they raced in Estoril in the Racing Engineering outfit. Racing Engineering
heads to Estoril this weekend to compete with its driver lineup
Borja Garcia (ESP), Steven Kane (GBR) and Maria de Villota (ESP).
Given the pre-season tests at the Autodromo Fernanda Pires da Silva,
the goal at the Portuguese circuit is the prolongation of Racing
Engineerings outstanding performance.
Alfonso
de Orleans-Borbon, president of Racing Engineering, previews the
Portuguese round of the Spanish Formula 3 Championship stating,
We hope to be consistently competitive and have always had
good set ups for Estoril, which the past has proven. But lets
not jump conclusions as we are coming to Manuel Giaos hometrack
and he will fight for victory. I am confident our boys will do a
good job, but Manuel wont make it easy for us. He is an excellent
driver with a lot of experience given his years in the Open Nissan
and the International Formula 3000 championships.
